Upload your (nearly) finished essay and receive precise, clear and detailed English teacher feedback before the grade is locked in.
With 20 years of classroom experience and over 2,500 essays marked, I know exactly where marks are gained, and where they’re lost.
Receive:
• A realistic mark estimate
• Clear, prioritized revision instructions
• Structural and analytical corrections
• Feedback aligned with grading criteria
You’ve stared at your introduction for an hour.
Re-read the task sheet ten times.
Rewritten the thesis twice.
And you’re still wondering:
“Is this analytical enough?”
“Is my teacher going to say ‘too descriptive’ again?”
“What mark is this actually getting… another mid-70?”
Friends say it’s “good.”
Parents can’t remember what a thesis statement requires.
AI tools offer suggestions but not according to your teacher’s marking standards.
None of them can tell you how your teacher will actually evaluate your thinking.
And by the time real feedback arrives, the grade is already locked in.
Share your essay, task sheet, and rubric (if provided).
Your essay is reviewed the same way a classroom English teacher evaluates student work.
Clear direction on what’s limiting your mark, and how to fix it before submission.
This is not editing.
And it’s not generic commentary.
Each GradeLift evaluation includes:
Identification of the 3–5 issues actually limiting the grade (and how to improve)
A realistic mark estimate based on classroom standards
Clear written feedback aligned with grading criteria
A short (5–8 minute) personalized video explaining what to adjust to boost your grade
A focused revision checklist for final improvements
The goal isn’t to rewrite your essay. It’s to show you exactly what raises the mark.
Sample feedback:
“Your thesis is stopping this essay from being in the A-range (80% and above). Strengthen your thesis by clearly states your argument about ambition. Without an argumentative verb the thesis sounds like a summary of the play instead of an argument. This verb will allow you to contrast Macbeth’s early doubts with his later certainty, which you mention in the first paragraph.”
Privacy note: Your essay is only seen by your assigned teacher and is never shared with anyone else.
Designed for students who want more than reassurance. For those who want to understand:
How their teacher is actually evaluating their thinking
Why strong essays plateau in the 70s or 80s
What to change tonight to move the mark
Not emergency help. A strategic advantage before submission.
No idea if your essay is a 60% or an 85%
Last-minute rewrites driven by panic
Generic AI suggestions that don’t match your rubric
Submitting and hoping the feedback is “good enough”
A clear grade range, and what’s keeping you from the next level
The 3–5 changes that actually raise the mark
Specific edits you can apply in one focused revision
A repeatable checklist for future essays
Submit knowing how your work will be evaluated.
Not guessing, hoping or bracing for vague comments.
You’ll know exactly what to fix, and why it matters, while there’s still time to raise the mark.
That’s the advantage.
Choose the turnaround that fits your deadline.
Both options include a grade estimate and detailed, mark-focused feedback you can apply immediately.
GradeLift Confidence Promise: If your teacher’s feedback highlights a major issue I did not address, I’ll review your essay again at no cost to ensure our guidance is fully aligned.
GradeLift Quality Promise: To maintain quality, I only review 5 essays every day. When capacity is reached, new submissions pause until availability opens again.
If you’re still unsure, these answers should help. (And yes, your teacher will be okay with me reviewing your essay!)
Yes. My name is John Wiskin, and I’m a certified Ontario English teacher with nearly 20 years of classroom experience.
I currently teach at Markville Secondary School, and I earned my Bachelor of Education (Intermediate/Senior English and History) from Niagara University in 2009.
I’m a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT #586668), and I also run the YouTube channel "Unlocking High School English", where I help students understand how to earn top grade in high school English.
Your review is completed by me and me alone!
No. GradeLift doesn’t write your essay for you.
I review the work you’ve done and point out where you’re meeting or missing the criteria (similar to the feedback a teacher would give on a draft).
You still have to do the thinking and rewriting yourself.
No service can guarantee a specific school grade, because your final mark depends on many factors (your teacher, school policies, and any changes you make).
What I can guarantee is a realistic grade range, clear reasons why, and specific steps to move up a band.
I review standard senior-level English essays, including literary essays, text-based responses, comparative essays, and culminating or summative assignments. These are the kinds of essays typically written for Grades 11–12 English courses.
This service is designed for fully written classroom essays, not outlines, rough drafts, or brainstorming. I also do not give feedback on exams, in-class writing, or timed assessments.
If your assignment is slightly unusual, you can upload the task sheet when you submit your essay so I can understand the expectations.
GradeLift's standard pricing covers essays up to around 1,500 words. If your essay is significantly longer, I may focus comments on the highest‑impact sections. For extended tasks over 2,000 words, contact me and I’ll advise before you pay.
If your deadline is very close, choose GradeLift's 24‑hour Priority option at checkout.
Priority submissions are moved ahead in the queue so you’ll normally receive feedback within 24 hours. I still don’t promise reviews for requests shorter than 24 hours, as extremely tight deadlines don’t allow time for thoughtful marking.
I prioritise careful, actionable feedback over speed. For the best results, submit as early as you can and select the 24‑hour Priority option when you need faster attention; this gives me the time to provide meaningful suggestions you can use before you hand in.
No. Your essay is stored securely for the purpose of providing feedback and basic quality checks only. We don’t resell, publish, or use it to train AI models.
Upload your essay today and get teacher‑level feedback while you still have time to raise your mark.
